DepicT! has had many success stories with its shortlisted and winning films going on to be screened across the UK and at festivals around the world, and we are keen to build on this to further develop the platform for short film and extend opportunities for filmmakers. We are delighted that thanks to an ongoing partnership with Arts Alliance, the DepicT! '08 winning films are are now available to cinemas participating in the Digital Screen Network.. Last year's selection, the DepicT! ‘07 shortlist and the ten DepicT! Audience Favourites are also still available for bookings.
- There will be no charge for screening the shorts – the idea is to use DepicT! as a pilot project for DSN to extend audiences for quality short films, inspire filmmakers to make short film work by giving the medium a theatrical platform and to offer the DepicT! and associated partners brand association for with innovation and talent.
- The original selection of twenty short films was premiered at Encounters Short Film Film Festival in November 2007 and went on to be screened at the 5th London Short Film Festival at the ICA in January 2008. DepicT! films have screened at Glastonbury, One Minute Film and Video Festival (Switzerland), Vilnius International Film Festival (Lithuania), De Uitkijk (Amsterdam), Cannes in a Van, BBC Big Screens, and at many cinemas across the UK.
- For venues that are not part of the DSN, most of the films are also available on digibeta, Beta SP PAL and DVD.
- All the films have been submitted to BBFC to ensure cinemas can screen the shorts with appropriate features.
