Encounters International Short Film Festival, Britain’s best loved festival of animation and short film, is back in Bristol from 21-25 November with a bigger and broader programme than ever before, including 300 films to view, beat-the-makers in the EA Games Zone, international showcases and celebrity interviews. Guests include Frank Cottrell Boyce, Damien O’Donnell and Mark Kermode. Other highlights:
Film School - everything you need to know about the art of producing. Speakers include Lenny Crooks and Michael Kuhn.
Animation New Talent Symposium – what are Europe’s top animation schools creating, and can UK animators compete? Includes a keynote address by the visual effects guru Henry LaBounta, Director of Art, Electronic Arts Games. Symposium will be chaired by Paul Wells, University of Loughborough, and produced by Shelley Page (Dreamworks).
