5th London Short Film Festival’s ‘VX AUTEUR THEORY 3’ seeks new talent

Are you a filmmaker, who can produce, write, direct, shoot & edit? Or perhaps you have written the music for your film and acted in it too? If you have worked on at least three of the above roles then we want to hear from you. We are looking to showcase the next generation of D.I.Y auteurs for whom filmmaking is a more rounded, personal process as apposed to clear-cut, traditional film making roles – and you could be £750 better off as a result.

Created by Lucia Helenka, a London based artist and filmmaker, the competition will showcase undiscovered, talented filmmakers with a strong personal vision and hands on approach to filmmaking. The competition is part of the London Short Film Festival, formally the Halloween Short Film Festival. This third VX Auteur Theory promises to take Britain’s talented film makers on an exciting journey to prove they too show innovation and prove they’re the ones to watch. Last year’s winner was Simon Ellis with his film A Storm and Some Snow and runner up was Greg Butler with his film A Mouse Funeral. This year the judges will include Asif Kapadia, director of the BAFTA winning The Warrior and the recent Far North.

Deadline for entries: 17th December 2007

Application form at www.vxcollective.co.uk

The VX Auteur Theory 3 screenings will be held at 6pm on Wednesday 9th January 2008 at the Curzon Soho, 99 Shaftesbury Ave, London W1D 5DY followed by a drinks reception.
